mug heater 2

Day 25 – March Meet The Maker 2019 – How It’s Made

For today’s prompt I thought I would share with you how my mugs are made. I got this heater from Start 2 Print as part of a dye sublimation starter kit. To make the mugs I have to design the layout, print onto transfer paper with dye sublimation ink then stick this onto the mug with thermal tape. After the mug press has heated up, I then place the mug inside, clamp it and leave it to transfer the ink. A few minutes later and it is ready to take out, peel the paper off and cool down in water. Then voila, a printed mug is made! This process is still new to me so I have quite a few practice mugs which are now in the cupboard đŸ˜‚ but I am enjoying creating a different products from usual greetings cards!
