GDPR Preparation​

I recently decided to set myself up on Mail Chimp to market my cards via email. My customers have been split dependent on where they originally bought from – Etsy, nuMONDAY, Amazon Handmade, eBay and Depop, so then I can target mail shots towards them for that particular platform. For example, I had sent one out to all my Etsy customers to let them know about my clearance sale –

There are new guidelines coming in for GDPR on the 25th May which means I need to get my customers to positively opt-in to my marketing emails so I am now sending out sign-up emails to every customer on my list. Anyone who hasn’t signed up will be removed from the list on the 25th May so I can avoid breaking any Data Protection laws. To make this a bit more fun I have even designed a take the mick sign up greetings card too! I am using this in my email and have already had a sale of it after it being available to purchase a couple of days ago!

 

 

I have also added a sign-up pop up on my website now –

And on my Facebook page, I have integrated a tab with the email sign up form on too –

Any new customers I will need to ask outside of Mail Chimp for permission to send them targeted mail shots. I have actually gained more subscribers than I expected so hopefully I will get plenty to send to and remind people about my shop to gain more sales!
